Penny Leader
Over the past 25 years, Penny has worked across diverse human services fields, including domestic violence, mental health, youth work, homelessness, and numeracy/literacy. Penny’s most recent work has involved training people for the workforce and developing strategies to assist the client to engage in their community.
Penny has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences (HS) majoring in Young People. Her Postgraduate Diploma focussed on Alternative Education and Early School Leaving. Returning to QUT to complete a Masters in Human Services, Penny applied her theoretical studies in her role as facilitator for a sexual assault group.
Mekita Vanderhyde
Mekita has a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health and a Postgraduate Certificate in Human Services from QUT, a Cert IV in Workplace Assessment and Training, and is an approved Chronic Disease Self Management course leader. She has 13 years’ experience in the health and disability sectors, and she currently works as a community development worker (disability sector).
